The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulises Truylos during the 2nd minute. The referee ignored Viamonte FC's protests and gave Braulio Figueroa a yellow card for diving instead. 6 minutes into the game, one of Viamonte FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Emilio Garoa had in the 8thth minute some difficulties stopping Alfonso Rius's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Justo Telo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Justo Telo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Emilio Garoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Israel Firmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute Cristobal Ovando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidoro Lobo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th match minute, Viamonte FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clodoveo Telmo to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Severino Luar kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Emilio Garoa. That made the score 1-1 in the 28 minute of play. Emilio Garoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Luar in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Justo Telo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emilio Garoa. Viamonte FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Justo Telo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Israel Firmo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Isidoro Lobo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emilio Garoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severino Luar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Osvaldo Pinto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Israel Firmo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Viamonte FC's goalkeeper Emilio Garoa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristobal Ovando recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. san antonio's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Israel Firmo 58 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. In the 65th minute Severino Luar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Garoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emilio Garoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justo Telo, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 72nd minute, Cristobal Ovando left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Viamonte FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. In the 79th minute Israel Firmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidoro Lobo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emilio Garoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Luar in the 80th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Justo Telo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. san antonio's Isidoro Lobo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Israel Firmo in the 92nd minute of play. Viamonte FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
