The Despeñaderos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Justino Cordareo took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Gregorio Calisto to make any attempt to save it. If Gaston Urdaspal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaston Hug kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the match Cleto Llanos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gregorio Calisto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 20th minute Genaro Ekialde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregorio Calisto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gaston Urdaspal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aquilino Henric made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Urdaspal in the 24th minute of play. Gregorio Calisto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saul Chepe in the 27th minute of play. Arnaldo Ramirez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Aquilino Henric tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Despeñaderos booed when C.A. CASTIGADORES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgardo Cordera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aquilino Henric came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Despeñaderos's Arnaldo Ramirez. But to his dismay, Arnaldo Ramirez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Genaro Ekialde's late challenge caught a Despeñaderos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Genaro Ekialde helped the player get up and apologised. In the 36th match minute, C.A. CASTIGADORES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genaro Ekialde to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute, Gaston Urdaspal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Despeñaderos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Aquilino Henric didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arnaldo Ramirez went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. After the first half Despeñaderos were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaston Urdaspal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, C.A. CASTIGADORES's goalkeeper Aquilino Henric had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnaldo Ramirez. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaston Urdaspal in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aquilino Henric saved C.A. CASTIGADORES from getting behind. Arnaldo Ramirez came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Aquilino Henric could save by the left post. Gaston Urdaspal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquilino Henric having to interfere. A collision led to C.A. CASTIGADORES getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Genaro Ekialde hit a great ball. Aquilino Henric stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaston Urdaspal's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Despeñaderos's Arnaldo Ramirez got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cirilo Esquipula fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquilino Henric having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Arnaldo Ramirez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Despeñaderos's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaldo Ramirez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquilino Henric breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute, Gaston Urdaspal fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vinicio Vidal during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Despeñaderos's Vinicio Vidal got a free kick in the 76th minute. After 83 played minutes C.A. CASTIGADORES got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Ekialde. Genaro Ekialde kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Aquilino Henric made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Urdaspal in the 85th minute of play. Denis Bidun who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Aquilino Henric when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 89 minutes, Cirilo Esquipula managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Despeñaderos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cirilo Esquipula was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gaston Urdaspal struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Aquilino Henric didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Despeñaderos. Denis Biduns short, quick shot in the 95thth minute got Aquilino Henric to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
