The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Isidoro Medardo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafin Gauargi in the 14th minute of play forced Deportivo Castro's goalkeeper Isidoro Medardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cesar Ermengol, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 15 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Isidoro Medardo was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Serafin Gauargi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Isidoro Medardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serafin Gauargi struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Isidoro Medardo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Once Pitus. After 31 played minutes Deportivo Castro got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Oxel. Cesar Ermengol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Isidoro Medardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Arsenio Lizardi fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Castro's protests and gave Arsenio Lizardi a yellow card for diving instead. After recieving a nice pass, Once Pitus's Zeledon Bermudez tried to score from far away in the 41st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Astor Christobal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Atauri in the 45th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Castro's zone, Cesar Ermengol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isidoro Medardo came out of the goal and Cesar Ermengol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cesar Ermengol to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Serafin Gauargi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Once Pitus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serafin Gauargi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Castro's zone, Cesar Ermengol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isidoro Medardo came out of the goal and Cesar Ermengol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 57 minutes of play Deportivo Castro's Arsenio Lizardi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 58th minute, Arsenio Lizardi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Deportivo Castro's Isidoro Medardo got control of the ball when Serafin Gauargi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cesar Ermengol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Serafin Gauargi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Emiliano Afonso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Astor Christobal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Sein in the 85th minute of the match. Isidoro Medardo made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Serafin Gauargi sent off a good shot on target. 89 minutes into the match, Deportivo Castro's goal looked a bit too open when Serafin Gauargi came free, but Isidoro Medardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Oscar Sein managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Castro's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Sein was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Astor Christobal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amadeo Gilabert hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match.
