The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cosme Dei stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodrigo Harriet's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. 7 minutes into the match, Octavio Mercurio notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of VERΛ's Ricardo Honrio. Ricardo Honrio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcelino Francesco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosme Dei having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Denis Txomin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Honrio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Hitzeder in the 14th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Santos Eyague during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Santos Eyague kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Octavio Mercurio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aragonés FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 20th minute Abel Hitzeder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Honrio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alonzo Luar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Santos Eyague kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Ricardo Honrio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octavio Mercurio in the 31st minute of the match. Cosme Dei stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodrigo Harriet's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. When Eleuterio Rami fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VERΛ's protests and gave Eleuterio Rami a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in VERΛ fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! When Rodrigo Harriet came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the VERΛ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Harriet couldn't finish the play. VERΛ made a substitution. Teobaldo Hegoi replaced Rodrigo Harriet. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

VERΛ's Denis Txomin got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute Ermegildo Atarratze suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. During the 57th minute of the match Santos Eyague completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Santos Eyague a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Aragonés FC booed when VERΛ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santos Eyague didn't get a good kick on the ball. VERΛ's Ricardo Honrio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavio Mercurio in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Aragonés FC's Abel Hitzeder ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ricardo Honrio. Ricardo Honrio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Marcelino Francesco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind VERΛ's goalkeeper Ricardo Honrio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Marcelino Francesco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denis Txomin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosme Dei having to interfere. After 82 played minutes VERΛ got a freekick which was hit by Marcelino Francesco. Octavio Mercurio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Honrio having to interfere. If Octavio Mercurio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Octavio Mercurio got free with Ricardo Honrio in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cosme Dei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelino Francesco in the 94th minute of the match. Sebastian Erdiano charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastian Erdiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of VERΛ booed when Aragonés FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Erdiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute Rosendo Vito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosme Dei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Aragonés FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
