Bartolo Lartaun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Modesto Abeijon made a huge save. When Hilario Chesus fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Horcones's protests and gave Hilario Chesus a yellow card for diving instead. Hilario Chesus hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Horcones defense, Cristo Jerardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Modesto Abeijon. The Horcones fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Modesto Abeijon should have stopped the shot. Horcones's Modesto Abeijon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Horcones from getting a goal against them. Bartolo Lartaun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Modesto Abeijon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hilario Chesus was slow to take the kick. During this time Horcones's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Horcones's Prospero Nayely to fire away a dangerous shot which Evelio Pelagius despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 79th match minute, Horcones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victoriano Elequemedo to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Horcones walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
