After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Nicanor Ascencio managed to get in a good position for a shot. 9 de Diciembre's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicanor Ascencio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roman Ziemniak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half 9 de Diciembre were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zeledon Rosalio was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 77 minutes, Bayram Karataev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 9 de Diciembre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bayram Karataev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roman Ziemniak was a little too slow when Nicanor Ascencio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 0-3. When Bayram Karataev fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 9 de Diciembre's protests and gave Bayram Karataev a yellow card for diving instead. When Camilo Loramendi fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After a rather tough play, 9 de Diciembre's Camilo Loramendi got a free kick in the 90th minute. The KUT Football Club manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing 9 de Diciembre to win.
