Hilario Valerio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Modesto Oihenarte having to make a save. A collision led to Tortuguitas getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Victorio Beti hit a great ball. The Tortuguitas players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Clun Atletico River Plate were winning 1-2.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Aureliano Aimar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tortuguitas's supporters rose to their feet, but Aureliano Aimar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Modesto Oihenarte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aureliano Aimar in the 57th managed to get into a good position. When the match clock showed 63 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Aureliano Aimar sped through Clun Atletico River Plate's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Modesto Oihenarte. Arnoldo Jaizki kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Leandro Valiente sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Clun Atletico River Plate's Modesto Oihenarte didn't even have to move. Modesto Oihenarte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hilario Valerio, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Hilario Valerio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Clun Atletico River Plate's Modesto Oihenarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aureliano Aimar in the 88th minute of play. Modesto Oihenarte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aureliano Aimar's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
