Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Garupá's Ulises Lastur in the 19th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Honorio Cisco was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Golden Glory through an amazing save. Alejandro Fix made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Primeiro in the 21st minute of play. A collision led to Golden Glory getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Leandro Poncio hit a great ball. Alejandro Fix stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santiago Reno's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 33rd minute, Hernan Feliz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Garupá's Victor Giraldo got a free kick in the 37th minute. After 40 minutes, Celedonio Selmo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garupá and the Golden Glory players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of Garupá:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Golden Glory:s goal. In the 41st minute there was a penalty for Golden Glory. Santiago Reno stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alejandro Fix. 0-2. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Ulises Lastur took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Honorio Cisco to make any attempt to save it. The Garupá players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Golden Glory were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ulises Lastur stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute of the match, Rodrigo Primeiro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alejandro Fix was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Ulises Lastur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andres Manni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Alejandro Fix made a huge save. Rodrigo Primeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Alejandro Fix made a huge save. In the 67th minute, Marcelo Gaueko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, Rodrigo Primeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alejandro Fix. Garupá's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodrigo Primeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. The Garupá fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Golden Glory were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
