Midland's Orlando Dei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Midland from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Orte in the 20th minute of play forced Midland's goalkeeper Orlando Dei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rosendo Barbosa got free with Orlando Dei in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes into the game, Atlético Mermoz's Aaron Ritchie nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Orlando Dei made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. 43 minutes into the game, Cristobal Katia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After a rather tough play, Midland's Cristobal Katia got a free kick in the 44th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Christian Emmanuel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arnulfo Txema breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
