Ḩaiƪe Selaššie ڸƦϜ were furious when Leonides Calixto was red carded, 21 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 23rd minute there was a penalty for Los Trons. Ildefonso Erasto stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ceferino Mateus. 0-1. 28 minutes into the match, Los Trons's Gerardo Gonzalez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ceferino Mateus narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Los Trons's Gervasio Oihan, in the 35th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Los Trons. Tomás Monico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute, Tomás Monico made a precise shot to the right of Gustavo Garoa. Los Trons's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gerardo Gonzalez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Los Trons's Gustavo Garoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Napier in the 64th minute of play. After having played for 70 minutes, Tomás Monico managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ḩaiƪe Selaššie ڸƦϜ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomás Monico was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ḩaiƪe Selaššie ڸƦϜ's Tomás Monico got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benjamin Napier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Basilio Olo hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. If Gervasio Oihan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Ḩaiƪe Selaššie ڸƦϜ's Ceferino Mateus got control of the ball when Gervasio Oihan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
