After having played for 13 minutes, Horacio Mincho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estudiantes LP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horacio Mincho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filiberto Bide in the 21st minute of play forced Los Trons's goalkeeper Gustavo Garoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute, Feliciano Gaspard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Filiberto Bide made the kick off in the second half. Luis Gonchan tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Gustavo Garoa. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-2 in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes LP's zone, Gervasio Oihan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bohannon Dunne came out of the goal and Gervasio Oihan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Los Trons's Gustavo Garoa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Los Trons from getting a goal against them. In the 62nd minute Gervasio Oihan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bohannon Dunne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Estudiantes LP's Horacio Mincho got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Filiberto Bide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horacio Mincho got free with Gustavo Garoa in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 73rd minute, Los Trons's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Horacio Mincho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 75 minutes into the match, Los Trons's goalkeeper Gustavo Garoa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Horacio Mincho. Ildefonso Erasto kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Gustavo Garoa acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 87th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Tobias Abajas. Gustavo Garoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filiberto Bide, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustavo Garoa made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Horacio Mincho sent off a good shot on target. The Estudiantes LP supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Estudiantes LP would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
