Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Nereo Montay made the kick off which started today's match. Higinio Frechoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Hitzeder in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Santamarina's goalkeeper Leon Nabar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnoldo Sanson. In the 8th minute Nereo Montay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Frechoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Higinio Frechoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Isadore in the 13th minute of play. Santamarina's Leon Isadore got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nereo Montay in the 18th minute of play forced Saldungaray's goalkeeper Higinio Frechoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Higinio Lando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Higinio Frechoso having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Tonete in the 26th minute of play forced Santamarina's goalkeeper Leon Nabar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leon Nabar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Tonete in the 28th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Saldungaray's zone, Isidoro Hitzeder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Higinio Frechoso came out of the goal and Isidoro Hitzeder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Javier Tonete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leon Isadore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Santamarina's Leon Nabar got control of the ball when Arnoldo Sanson tried to sneak it across the goal line.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Javier Tonete stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Saldungaray got a freekick which was hit by Hernan Calvet. If Javier Tonete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leon Nabar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Sanson, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Nereo Montay's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Higinio Frechoso firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 68th minute, Angel Romelio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Javier Tonete struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Leon Nabar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saldungaray. After 76 played minutes Santamarina got a freekick which was hit by Angel Romelio. Leon Nabar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Javier Tonete in the 81st minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Angel Romelio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 87 minutes in the game, Isidoro Hitzeder fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Higinio Frechoso having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Santamarina's Régis Salgado got a free kick in the 95th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Santamarina walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
