The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marciano Aballe showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Paraní FC booed when Deportivo Alavés was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clodoveo Gaufred didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Deportivo Alavés's goal looked a bit too open when Desiderio Bemabe came free, but Mauricio Faro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute Raul Maju shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marciano Aballe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Desiderio Bemabe in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mauricio Faro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Deportivo Alavés getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Victorio Servando hit a great ball. Gervasio Gilesindo hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. When Desiderio Bemabe came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Paraní FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Desiderio Bemabe couldn't finish the play. 27 minutes into the match, Clodoveo Gaufred notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Paraní FC's Marciano Aballe. Marciano Aballe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Paraní FC's Marciano Aballe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Paraní FC from getting a goal against them. After 32 minutes, Higinio Fernendo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paraní FC and the Deportivo Alavés players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Paraní FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Higinio Fernendo to maneuver through the defense. 33 minutes into the match, Paraní FC's goalkeeper Marciano Aballe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blas Bautista. Marciano Aballe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raul Maju, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Desiderio Bemabe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Mauricio Faro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Desiderio Bemabe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marciano Aballe came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Alavés's Aureliano Kaxen. But to his dismay, Aureliano Kaxen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Victorio Servando hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Paraní FC's Gervasio Gilesindo got a free kick in the 57th minute. If Eriberto Mikolas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 played minutes Paraní FC got a freekick which was hit by Gervasio Gilesindo. Paraní FC's Marciano Aballe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clodoveo Gaufred in the 65th minute of play. Gervasio Gilesindo hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Raul Maju recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th minute, Paraní FC's Desiderio Bemabe ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mauricio Faro. Mauricio Faro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Aureliano Kaxen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Paraní FC's Gervasio Gilesindo got a free kick in the 74th minute. Mauricio Faro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gervasio Gilesindo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 81 minutes into the game, Arsenio Lope was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Alavés's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraní FC the free kick. Arsenio Lope hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Ildefonso Inko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Mauricio Faro made a huge save. After 89 played minutes Deportivo Alavés got a freekick which was hit by Victorio Servando. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Desiderio Bemabe in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mauricio Faro saved Deportivo Alavés from getting behind. Desiderio Bemabe might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mauricio Faro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Desiderio Bemabe ran back to his position shaking his head. Despite being the better team, Paraní FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
