Domingo Oliverio was extremely unlucky when he, in the 6th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a defensive mix-up in SynapseFC's zone, Saverio Gipuzkoa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddy Gabirel came out of the goal and Saverio Gipuzkoa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Americo Beti hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute Leonardo Afonso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peder Wållander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 18 minutes, Saverio Gipuzkoa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Douglas Haig's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saverio Gipuzkoa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Pasqual charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustavo Pasqual the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gustavo Pasqual hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 22nd match minute, Douglas Haig was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hipolito Belasko to maneuver through the defense. The SynapseFC fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when SynapseFC's Romeo Dacio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 33rd minute of the match Dante Botello sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Freddy Gabirel skillfully saved the ball. In the 35th minute Saverio Gipuzkoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddy Gabirel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peder Wållander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeo Dacio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arnulfo Ursino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Douglas Haig getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Alfonso Telesforo hit a great ball. A hard shot by Leonardo Afonso from long distance, 55 minutes into the match, got Peder Wållander's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Peder Wållander was a little too slow when Arnulfo Ursino got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-2. Freddy Gabirel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saverio Gipuzkoa in the 63rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Saverio Gipuzkoa in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Freddy Gabirel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 72nd match minute, SynapseFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Pasqual to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Saverio Gipuzkoa in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Freddy Gabirel saved SynapseFC from getting behind. Leonardo Afonso kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After having played for 84 minutes, Domingo Oliverio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Douglas Haig's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingo Oliverio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute, Romeo Dacio fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Freddy Gabirel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Domingo Oliverio went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Freddy Gabirel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingo Oliverio, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 94th match minute, SynapseFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Jakobe to maneuver through the defense. Saverio Gipuzkoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The SynapseFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SynapseFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
