Carolo Diaz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. River Plate. Carolo Diaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Christian Artal came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the C.A. River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Artal couldn't finish the play. Carolo Diaz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The supporters of C.A. River Plate booed when Rosario Central was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomero Dimo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christian Artal to make the kick off. If Paolo Domeka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, Rosario Central's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Artal came free, but Carolo Diaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carolo Diaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Artal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
