A very good chance. 33 minutes into the match, Jonatan Tebaldo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jim Gabrielsson. CAJA lechuzo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonatan Tebaldo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Jim Gabrielsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Abalos in the 38th minute of play. Domingo Etxahun kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in CAJA lechuzo's zone, Jonatan Tebaldo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jim Gabrielsson came out of the goal and Jonatan Tebaldo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Domingo Etxahun to strike the kick off in the second half. Jonatan Tebaldo might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jim Gabrielsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonatan Tebaldo ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the CAJA lechuzo defense, Jonatan Tebaldo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jim Gabrielsson. The CAJA lechuzo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jim Gabrielsson should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Guaberto Liberto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gavino Cordarryl was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Norberto Nafarroa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Gabrielsson having to interfere. A collision led to Quilmes Atlético Club getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Atilano Benitez hit a great ball. Jim Gabrielsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fidel Leocadio in the 82nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in CAJA lechuzo's zone, Enrique Abalos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jim Gabrielsson came out of the goal and Enrique Abalos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fidel Leocadio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Jim Gabrielsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, CAJA lechuzo's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Abalos came free, but Jim Gabrielsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 96 minutes of play, CAJA lechuzo's Guaberto Liberto made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gavino Cordarryl was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Quilmes Atlético Club supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Quilmes Atlético Club would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
