Los Defes de Sarandí's Wilber Arango played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pastor Rudolfo in the 6th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 9 minutes into the game, when Hipolito Paez put in a rough tackle. 9 minutes into the game, one of Los Defes de Sarandí:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Los Defes de Sarandí's Wilber Arango proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Los Defes de Sarandí from getting a goal against them. Wilber Arango made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pastor Rudolfo in the 19th minute. Sakarias Bratt struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Melchor Mercurio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Defes de Sarandí. Sakarias Bratt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Melchor Mercurio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Los Defes de Sarandí's Sakarias Bratt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Melchor Mercurio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by German Sindo during the 33rd minute. Wilber Arango showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victorio Tabor, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The Azulcuesta AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Los Defes de Sarandí were winning 0-1.

Wilber Arango tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Many of Los Defes de Sarandí's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Los Defes de Sarandí may have spent more time on the ball, but Azulcuesta AFC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
