When Aaron Pirmin fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Lorenzo's protests and gave Aaron Pirmin a yellow card for diving instead. Aaron Pirmin hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. San Lorenzo's Angelino Jerardo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Juan Llorian in the 11 minute of the game. Blas Cedro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, Blas Cedro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilber Arango. Los Defes de Sarandí's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Blas Cedro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Cirilo Segio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron Pirmin in the 20th minute of play forced Los Defes de Sarandí's goalkeeper Wilber Arango to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hipolito Paez's late challenge caught a San Lorenzo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hipolito Paez helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of San Lorenzo booed when Los Defes de Sarandí was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hipolito Paez didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 22 in the game by Blas Cedro from a close distance when the talented Wilber Arango managed to make a qualified save. Los Defes de Sarandí's players were relieved. Los Defes de Sarandí's Wilber Arango played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Bertol in the 31st minute of play. Wilber Arango stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leo Bertol's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. In the 39th minute, Juan Llorian got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sakarias Bratt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cirilo Segio having to interfere. Los Defes de Sarandí's Wilber Arango played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Bertol in the 48th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leo Bertol made a kick off. Wilber Arango showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Bertol, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Blas Cedro took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilber Arango. Wilber Arango dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 57 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goal looked a bit too open when Sakarias Bratt came free, but Cirilo Segio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Lorenzo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hipolito Paez was slow to take the kick. During this time Los Defes de Sarandí's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Hipolito Paez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cirilo Segio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cirilo Segio came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Los Defes de Sarandí's Sakarias Bratt. But to his dismay, Sakarias Bratt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leo Bertol in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilber Arango saved Los Defes de Sarandí from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Los Defes de Sarandí's Sergio Santxol got a free kick in the 69th minute. Leo Bertol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Wilber Arango tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Blas Cedro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilber Arango was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. The supporters of Los Defes de Sarandí booed when San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melquiades Cuarto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cirilo Segio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sakarias Bratt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sergio Santxol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Los Defes de Sarandí! Aaron Leocadio charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Leocadio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th minute, Aaron Leocadio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Sergio Santxol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Los Defes de Sarandí's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
