Evaristo Garaona tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dario Toribio hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Sportivo Balnearia's Amador Su played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florentino Mantzio in the 20th minute of play. When Arnoldo Derwin fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sportivo Balnearia's protests and gave Arnoldo Derwin a yellow card for diving instead. After 32 minutes of play, Castaño AFC's Pablo Machado made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amador Su was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tiburcio Urtsin struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Evaristo Garaona didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sportivo Balnearia. Amador Su showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pablo Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Evaristo Garaona made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dario Toribio in the 40th minute. Tiburcio Urtsin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaristo Garaona having to interfere. The long shot by Inocencio Medardo in the 44th minute really tested Evaristo Garaona's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal.

The wind increased when Florentino Mantzio made the kick off in the second half. Dario Toribio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Evaristo Garaona having to make a save. Igor Calisto charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Evaristo Garaona stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiburcio Urtsin's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Dario Toribio might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evaristo Garaona. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dario Toribio ran back to his position shaking his head. When Sportivo Balnearia's Tiburcio Urtsin in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Sportivo Balnearia manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Castaño AFC to win.
