The crowd rose to their feet as Sergio Frasquito kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Astor Ourente. That made the score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in RACING1967's zone, Ramon Raymundo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Astor Ourente came out of the goal and Ramon Raymundo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Astor Ourente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Frasquito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, Tiburcio Tebaldo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Constantino Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. RACING1967's Astor Ourente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Frasquito in the 24th minute of play. After 24 played minutes RACING1967 got a freekick which was hit by Juan Intxixu. Zacarias Cruz hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the game, San Lorenzo Charcas's Jaime Martinez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Astor Ourente made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Feliberto Baristo's late challenge caught a San Lorenzo Charcas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Feliberto Baristo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd match minute, RACING1967 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliberto Baristo to maneuver through the defense. Tiburcio Tebaldo took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lucas Moura. Lucas Moura dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tiburcio Tebaldo made a kick off. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Lorenzo Charcas's goalkeeper Lucas Moura, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Astor Ourente showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Frasquito in the 58th minute of the match. Astor Ourente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Constantino Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amancio Gaizko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute Ramon Raymundo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Ourente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Tiburcio Tebaldo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 69 minutes into the match, RACING1967's goal looked a bit too open when Ramon Raymundo came free, but Astor Ourente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo Charcas's goalkeeper Lucas Moura had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiburcio Tebaldo. Tiburcio Tebaldo struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Lucas Moura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RACING1967. Honorato Ortle hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After 87 played minutes San Lorenzo Charcas got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Martinez. Lucas Moura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Gaizko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Constantino Barros in the 91st minute of play forced RACING1967's goalkeeper Astor Ourente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of San Lorenzo Charcas booed when RACING1967 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Intxixu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Astor Ourente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Frasquito in the 96th minute of play. 97 minutes into the match, RACING1967's goal looked a bit too open when Ramon Raymundo came free, but Astor Ourente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The San Lorenzo Charcas fans cheered their team off the field, for while RACING1967 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
