Joel Abreu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ovidio Silban, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 29 minutes into the match, River Plate's goalkeeper Laureano Florian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilberto Benvido. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernan Avellaneda in the 33rd minute of play forced Real Boca FC's goalkeeper Joel Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonas Otsoa was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes, River Plate's Javier Socorro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joel Abreu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in River Plate reached it. Angel Miro hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Aureliano Uzuri kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Fernan Avellaneda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joel Abreu having to make a save. In the 64th minute, Silverio Mergildo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Real Boca FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Real Boca FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Benvido was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laureano Florian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Real Boca FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
