The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erdi Rebi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Erdi Rebi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anier Totakoxe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Guerrero's late challenge caught a Sarmiento's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alberto Guerrero helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Sarmiento booed when Union de Tandil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Guerrero didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 88thth minute of the game Ovidio Bermund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Union de Tandil's Erdi Rebi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
