Diego Beltran was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Boedo Argentina booed when Nueva chicago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inocencio Rojelio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nueva chicago's Diego Beltran proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Nueva chicago from getting a goal against them. Boedo Argentina's Matias Errando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sixto Giraldo in the 44th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Nueva chicago's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Umea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
