In the 3rd minute Isaias Luken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artemio Pio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 4th minute Elias Baleren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Raymundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 5 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Godoy Cruz! The referee gave Manteca atlétic a penalty, 8 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nereo Manilan, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Godoy Cruz's Sebastian Raymundo. 0-1. Benicio Mannuel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Sebastian Raymundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Godoy Cruz getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Artemio Lluterio hit a great ball. Sebastian Raymundo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hilario Lander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Raymundo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elias Baleren, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Victorino Koldo's late challenge caught a Manteca atlétic's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victorino Koldo helped the player get up and apologised. After 27 minutes of play, Manteca atlétic's Hilario Lander made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastian Raymundo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 30 played minutes Manteca atlétic got a freekick which was hit by Amador Quin. Artemio Pio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Evaristo Chesus in the 31st minute. Isaias Luken struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Artemio Pio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Godoy Cruz. 35 minutes into the match, Godoy Cruz's goal looked a bit too open when Hilario Lander came free, but Sebastian Raymundo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Artemio Pio came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Godoy Cruz's Evaristo Chesus. But to his dismay, Evaristo Chesus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 45 minutes into the match, Godoy Cruz's goal looked a bit too open when Dionisio Satordi came free, but Sebastian Raymundo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Manteca atlétic's Artemio Pio got control of the ball when Gaspar Cuartio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isaias Luken was the one to do the kick off. Sebastian Raymundo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benicio Mannuel in the 51st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benicio Mannuel got free with Sebastian Raymundo in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sebastian Raymundo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hilario Lander, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. When Isaias Luken came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Godoy Cruz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isaias Luken couldn't finish the play. Artemio Pio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo Chesus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Raymundo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 63rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Elias Baleren. Amador Quin got his second yellow card in the match during the 65th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 66 played minutes Manteca atlétic got a freekick which was hit by Amador Quin. Evaristo Chesus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Artemio Pio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Isaias Luken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evaristo Chesus in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Artemio Pio saved Manteca atlétic from getting behind. Isaias Luken took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Artemio Pio. Artemio Pio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
