After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Edgardo Jordy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Athena's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgardo Jordy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Dolcet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 7 minutes into the game, Athena's Cesar Soter nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafael Dolcet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Rafael Dolcet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Santos in the 16th minute of the match. Rafael Dolcet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baldomero Elizardo made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Rigoberto Elixio sent off a good shot on target. In the 27th minute, Rigoberto Elixio made a precise shot to the right of Baldomero Elizardo. Athena's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Emanuel Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35th minute, Emanuel Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the game, MAKUNA MATATA 2's Roberto Goito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baldomero Elizardo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

If Roberto Goito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of MAKUNA MATATA 2 booed when Athena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Soter didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th match minute, MAKUNA MATATA 2 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Frutos to maneuver through the defense. MAKUNA MATATA 2 were furious when Joaquin Manny was red carded, 58 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to MAKUNA MATATA 2 getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Joaquin Manny hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, MAKUNA MATATA 2's Octavio Hondo got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Baldomero Elizardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rigoberto Elixio in the 69th minute of play. Rafael Dolcet was a little too slow when Emanuel Santos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 3-2. If Rigoberto Elixio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roberto Goito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldomero Elizardo having to interfere. 85 minutes into the game, Cesar Fraco recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rafael Dolcet. Cesar Fraco showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-3. Baldomero Elizardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Lander in the 88th minute of the match. Rigoberto Elixio scored 4-3 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baldomero Elizardo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Baldomero Elizardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Goito, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Roberto Goito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldomero Elizardo having to interfere. There was no doubt that MAKUNA MATATA 2 were the better team. MAKUNA MATATA 2's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
