After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Guillermo Emesto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merced FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Guillermo Emesto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjamin Rufio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Emesto during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Anibal Artizar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Gilbert Björkkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Candido Ostots sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guillermo Emesto was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 62 minutes, Candido Ostots managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ciclón de Florida's supporters crossed their fingers, but Candido Ostots was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilbert Björkkvist didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Ciclón de Florida's Anibal Artizar shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Gilbert Björkkvist stood somewhat misplaced when Anibal Artizar came free in front of goal and shot 1-3 to the left of him in the 73 minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anibal Artizar in the 80th minute of play forced Merced FC's goalkeeper Gilbert Björkkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Anibal Artizar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ciclón de Florida's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anibal Artizar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cleto Erroman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilbert Björkkvist. Merced FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Merced FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ciclón de Florida were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
