In the 5th minute, Leopoldo Patxi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Merced FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Maximo Cucao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillermo Emesto in the 18th minute of play. Merced FC's Generoso Olayo got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guillermo Emesto took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maximo Cucao. Maximo Cucao dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Maximo Cucao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillermo Emesto in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to La guadaña FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Angelino Weterio hit a great ball. After 33 minutes, Alonzo Kinsen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La guadaña FC and the Merced FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes La guadaña FC got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Kinsen. 37 minutes into the game, Guillermo Emesto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Merced FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La guadaña FC the free kick. The supporters of La guadaña FC booed when Merced FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Emesto didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Marcelo Odol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The La guadaña FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Merced FC were winning 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelo Odol stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Humberto Viator fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximo Cucao having to interfere. Humberto Viator received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Maximo Cucao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Merced FC's zone, Angelino Weterio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilbert Björkkvist came out of the goal and Angelino Weterio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Marcelo Odol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maximo Cucao made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Leopoldo Patxi sent off a good shot on target. After 72 played minutes La guadaña FC got a freekick which was hit by Angelino Weterio. A hard shot by Emiliano Janpier from long distance, 73 minutes into the match, got Maximo Cucao's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Maximo Cucao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillermo Emesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Angelino Weterio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maximo Cucao was a little too slow when Leopoldo Patxi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 0-5. Maximo Cucao made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo Patxi in the 90th minute. 94 minutes into the game, Generoso Olayo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Maximo Cucao. Generoso Olayo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Merced FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
