Gilbert Björkkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Oton in the 4th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, La guadaña FC's goalkeeper Maximo Cucao had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Patxi. Marcelo Odol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maximo Cucao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillermo Emesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Angelino Weterio during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to La guadaña FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Angelino Weterio hit a great ball. Maximo Cucao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Viator, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Angelino Weterio struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Gilbert Björkkvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La guadaña FC. If Angelino Weterio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelo Odol in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilbert Björkkvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. La guadaña FC's Maximo Cucao played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Generoso Olayo in the 35th minute of play. Gilbert Björkkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Oton, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Marcelo Odol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Marcelo Odol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Igor Oton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guillermo Emesto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as La guadaña FC's Marcelo Odol slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gilbert Björkkvist. That made the score 0-1 after 55 minutes of play. In the 62nd minute, Marcelo Odol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The La guadaña FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelo Odol got free with Gilbert Björkkvist in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Patxi in the 67th minute of play forced La guadaña FC's goalkeeper Maximo Cucao to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilbert Björkkvist made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Marcelo Odol sent off a good shot on target. Maximo Cucao didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leopoldo Patxi went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Merced FC's zone, Marcelo Odol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilbert Björkkvist came out of the goal and Marcelo Odol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilbert Björkkvist was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Marcelo Odol capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marcelo Odol really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Maximo Cucao took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guillermo Emesto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 85 minutes Merced FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felipe Rolado who took care of the corner kick. If Angelino Weterio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, La guadaña FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guillermo Emesto came free, but Maximo Cucao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcelo Odol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Gilbert Björkkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. La guadaña FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
