Lucio Alonso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Vinicio Guillen made a huge save. 38 minutes into the game, Martin Telesforo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Fortin's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pozancón the free kick. In the 38th minute, Martin Telesforo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enrique Olayo shot the penalty kick right outside the post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benicio Favila to make the kick off. Vinicio Guillen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás Castulo, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After a rather tough play, El Fortin's Adan Su got a free kick in the 63rd minute. During the 76th minute of the match Saturnino Silvanito completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Saturnino Silvanito a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. El Fortin fully deserved thier win.
