But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Igon couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Teobaldo Veremundo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teodosio Kiliz was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. If Jacinto Nel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rene Ted stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cipriano Pacifico's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Cipriano Pacifico could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Rene Ted made a huge save. Boca Juniors had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
