After a defensive mix-up in Cuervos FC's zone, Vicente Monclús stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cosme Pirmin came out of the goal and Vicente Monclús tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Segundo Pacho hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Umea in the 29th minute of play forced Preston North End's goalkeeper Leonard Kalak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Vicente Monclús had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Cuervos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Roque Acevedo came free, but Cosme Pirmin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vicente Monclús fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosme Pirmin having to interfere. Leonard Kalak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Umea in the 35th minute of play. Preston North End's Leonard Kalak proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Preston North End from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Cuervos FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Tiburcio Quintyn hit a great ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vicente Monclús might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cosme Pirmin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vicente Monclús ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 94th minute, Roque Acevedo made a precise shot to the right of Cosme Pirmin. Cuervos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Preston North End's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
