The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angel Opilano got free with Leonard Kalak in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 8th minute, Vicente Monclús made a precise shot to the right of Paulo Costa. Yeso's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Korneliusz Wawak came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Preston North End fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Korneliusz Wawak couldn't finish the play. Leonard Kalak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angel Opilano in the 19th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Yeso's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Monclús came free, but Paulo Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Preston North End's Vicente Monclús sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulo Costa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The corner led Preston North End's Vicente Monclús to fire away a dangerous shot which Paulo Costa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Vicente Monclús notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Yeso's Paulo Costa. Paulo Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Zeledon Urtun came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Yeso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zeledon Urtun couldn't finish the play. In the 35th match minute, Preston North End was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Segundo Pacho to maneuver through the defense. Angel Opilano came free with the goalkeeper in the 38th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Leonard Kalak could save by the left post. When Mauricio Ugaitz came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Preston North End fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauricio Ugaitz couldn't finish the play. After the first half Preston North End were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zeledon Urtun was the one to do the kick off. Gilberto Uhin lost his temper 53 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Preston North End fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 52nd minute. Penalty! Leonard Kalak had in the 54thth minute some difficulties stopping Hipolito Mitxel's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 54 minutes into the game, Yeso's Hipolito Mitxel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonard Kalak made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Yeso's Zeledon Urtun got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 59 minutes, Korneliusz Wawak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Preston North End's supporters crossed their fingers, but Korneliusz Wawak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Korneliusz Wawak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Paulo Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Gonsalvo in the 74th minute of play forced Preston North End's goalkeeper Leonard Kalak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonard Kalak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeledon Urtun in the 80th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Hector Cedro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Preston North End's supporters rose to their feet, but Hector Cedro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonard Kalak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeledon Urtun in the 87th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Korneliusz Wawak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Korneliusz Wawak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonard Kalak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Gonsalvo, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The Yeso fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Preston North End were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
