Didier Drogba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Álvaro Montero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. After some careless play in the Boobu Futbol Club defense, Alberto Matai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Argyris Stratakis. The Boobu Futbol Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Argyris Stratakis should have stopped the shot. Cleto Nardo kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, Boobu Futbol Club's Didier Drogba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Álvaro Montero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ozan Midillis short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Álvaro Montero to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Boobu Futbol Club's Argyris Stratakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Trucco in the 24th minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Boobu Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Froilan Precioso to maneuver through the defense. Álvaro Montero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Didier Drogba in the 34th minute of play. Álvaro Montero was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Hugo Bertran. Didier Drogba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Didier Drogba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Montero having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Matai to make the kick off. The supporters of Boobu Futbol Club booed when C.A. Rosario Central was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Matai didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute Ozan Midilli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Álvaro Montero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Didier Drogba came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Boobu Futbol Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Didier Drogba couldn't finish the play. Didier Drogba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Montero having to interfere. A collision led to Boobu Futbol Club getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Cristobal Enetz hit a great ball. In the 75th minute of the match Enzo Gartzea shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Argyris Stratakis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Pedro Benino in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Argyris Stratakis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 82 played minutes C.A. Rosario Central got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Matai. Álvaro Montero came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Boobu Futbol Club's Ozan Midilli. But to his dismay, Ozan Midilli quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Pedro Benino was shown his second yellow card after 91 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 91st match minute, C.A. Rosario Central was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Benino to maneuver through the defense. Benito Panfilo might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Álvaro Montero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benito Panfilo ran back to his position shaking his head. The C.A. Rosario Central supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing C.A. Rosario Central would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
