Dalmacio Olivar came out of the goal and Eusebio Chesus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. ASCE FC's Ramiro Lando proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save ASCE FC from getting a goal against them. Ramiro Lando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Candido Madeo in the 27th minute. Ramiro Lando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Irrintzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 30 minutes of play, El Gallinero's Candido Madeo made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ramiro Lando was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ramiro Lando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Irrintzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Froilan Ekain in the 39th minute of play forced El Gallinero's goalkeeper Dalmacio Olivar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. El Gallinero's Dalmacio Olivar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remigio Roldanillo in the 41st minute of play. The supporters of ASCE FC booed when El Gallinero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Candido Madeo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Remigio Roldanillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmacio Olivar having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enrique Irrintzi to make the kick off.
