UNION 1989 FC's Teofilo Olando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene Orlondo in the 4th minute of play. Hilario Guilabertus scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Teofilo Olando, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Fernando Diaz fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored General Roca's protests and gave Fernando Diaz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to General Roca getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Rene Orlondo hit a great ball. With a little luck, General Roca's Elvio Firme got control of the ball when Santiago Lando tried to sneak it across the goal line. When General Roca's Rene Orlondo in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hilario Guilabertus in the 14th minute of play forced UNION 1989 FC's goalkeeper Teofilo Olando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teofilo Olando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Orlondo in the 15th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, General Roca's Rene Orlondo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Teofilo Olando made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Elvio Firme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Lando in the 26th minute of play. Teofilo Olando stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hilario Guilabertus's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. After a rather tough play, General Roca's Eldin Erazo got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Santiago Lando struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Elvio Firme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UNION 1989 FC. Teofilo Olando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pitoy Martínez de Aldunate, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. If Santiago Lando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teofilo Olando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hilario Guilabertus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half General Roca were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Santiago Lando stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Hilario Guilabertus notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of UNION 1989 FC's Teofilo Olando. Teofilo Olando was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Teofilo Olando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hilario Guilabertus, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute, Rogelio Bixintxo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hilario Guilabertus in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teofilo Olando saved UNION 1989 FC from getting behind. In the 82nd minute, General Roca's Rene Orlondo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Teofilo Olando. Teofilo Olando yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. After 90 played minutes General Roca got a freekick which was hit by Pitoy Martínez de Aldunate. If Rene Orlondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baldomiro Chesus hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Bernardo Tohias was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 95th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. General Roca walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
