Aaron Itzaina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Pastor Llorienzo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Aaron Itzaina made a huge save. Victor Galeno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Itzaina having to interfere. A collision led to Carolina getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Zacarias Baladi hit a great ball. Pastor Llorienzo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Aaron Itzaina made a huge save. 11 minutes into the match, Carolina's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Galeno came free, but Aaron Itzaina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Zacarias Baladi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Carolina's Mauro Santana fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Javier Marz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aldo Matxin in the 27th minute of the match. Aaron Itzaina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquin Guillem in the 28th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Marcelo Ascencio managed to get in a good position for a shot. SS Español's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelo Ascencio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aaron Itzaina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 35 played minutes, SS Español's Feliberto Oskitz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aaron Itzaina came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SS Español reached it. Carolina's Aaron Itzaina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Carolina from getting a goal against them. The supporters of SS Español booed when Carolina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cecilio Ur didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victor Galeno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aaron Itzaina didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 45th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Marcelo Ascencio made the kick off in the second half. Victor Galeno struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Aaron Itzaina didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SS Español. SS Español's Javier Marz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save SS Español from getting a goal against them. Javier Marz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. If Victor Galeno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victor Galeno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pastor Llorienzo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aaron Itzaina having to make a save. Carolina's Aaron Itzaina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Galeno in the 82nd minute of play. Pastor Llorienzo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Aaron Itzaina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aaron Itzaina came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by SS Español's Pastor Llorienzo. But to his dismay, Pastor Llorienzo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Victor Galeno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Aaron Itzaina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SS Español's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
