When Nereo Urti fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Bilardeta's protests and gave Nereo Urti a yellow card for diving instead. After 10 played minutes La Bilardeta got a freekick which was hit by Nereo Urti. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Lertxun in the 11th minute of play forced La Bilardeta's goalkeeper Maximo Kepa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gervasio Gaspard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Maximo Kepa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, La Bilardeta's Froilan Eutor got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 34th minute Ulises Vasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximo Kepa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Hernan Benat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 37 played minutes Rueda got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Gumaro. Emanuel Sancho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximo Txatxu in the 38th minute. The La Bilardeta players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rueda were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hernan Benat to make the kick off. Froilan Lartaun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximo Kepa having to interfere. Dante Lertxun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Maximo Kepa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rueda's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
