An unexpectedly hard shot by Pastor Llorienzo in the 8th minute of play forced Carolina's goalkeeper Aaron Itzaina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pastor Llorienzo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aaron Itzaina having to make a save. After 14 played minutes Carolina got a freekick which was hit by Casimiro Silbestre. In the 18th minute, Victor Galeno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SS Español's Filomeno Sal got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 22 minutes into the game, one of Carolina:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mario Raymundo walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pastor Llorienzo in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Itzaina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute, Pastor Llorienzo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Victor Galeno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Aaron Itzaina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Carolina's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Galeno came free, but Aaron Itzaina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pastor Llorienzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victor Galeno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Itzaina having to interfere.
52 minutes into the match, Marcelo Ascencio notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Carolina's Aaron Itzaina. Aaron Itzaina was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aaron Itzaina was a little too slow when Marcelo Ascencio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-2. Javier Marz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Santana in the 66th minute of play. Aaron Itzaina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pastor Llorienzo in the 70th minute. 71 minutes into the match, SS Español's Victor Galeno sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aaron Itzaina narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aaron Itzaina had great luck who in the 72ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Victor Galeno from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Marcelo Ascencio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Itzaina having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Marcelo Ascencio managed to get in a good position for a shot. SS Español's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelo Ascencio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aaron Itzaina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Victor Galeno kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Aaron Itzaina. That made the score 0-3 in the 79 minute of play. Ciro Xabier hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Javier Marz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aldo Matxin, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Aaron Itzaina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Galeno in the 95th minute of the match. SS Español played a much better game than Carolina and deserved their victory. The Carolina players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
