Timoteo Elizardo had in the 8thth minute some difficulties stopping Prudencio Pueblo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Anibal Ponce hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. When Gaspar Abadia came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Di Maria 2021 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaspar Abadia couldn't finish the play. Erasmo Montez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baldomiro Naelio struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Timoteo Elizardo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. Di Maria 2021's Flor Petera got his second yellow card of the match in the 21st minute. The referee ordered Flor Petera off the ground. Di Maria 2021's Timoteo Elizardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prudencio Pueblo in the 38th minute of play. Baldomiro Naelio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Timoteo Elizardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

With 52 minutes on the clock, Paulo Maxin commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The goalkeeper, Timoteo Elizardo, was totally fooled by Independiente's Prudencio Pueblo, who 54 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Erasmo Montez got a free kick in the 60th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baldomiro Naelio in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Timoteo Elizardo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Martin Iaki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Di Maria 2021 defense, Baldomiro Naelio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Timoteo Elizardo. The Di Maria 2021 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Timoteo Elizardo should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Naelio in the 80th minute of play forced Di Maria 2021's goalkeeper Timoteo Elizardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Prudencio Pueblos short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Timoteo Elizardo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Naelio in the 92nd minute of play forced Di Maria 2021's goalkeeper Timoteo Elizardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Timoteo Elizardo made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Nemesio Gaitan sent off a good shot on target.
