Spectators: 6701 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1701, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Adrian Semeno started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Banfield booed when Gallo Capo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimeno Telo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Xabel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ubaldo Isauro went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Alfredo Xabel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Semeno in the 11th minute of play. After 12 played minutes Banfield got a freekick which was hit by Saturnino Piarres. 17 minutes into the game, Banfield's Adrian Semeno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfredo Xabel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 21st minute, Filomeno Balasi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfredo Xabel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 23rd match minute, Banfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Fortun to maneuver through the defense. Gallo Capo's Alfredo Xabel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ubaldo Isauro in the 29th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrian Semeno in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Xabel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd match minute, Banfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruperto Guillerme to maneuver through the defense. When Omar Joachim fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gallo Capo's protests and gave Omar Joachim a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Omar Joachim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 37 minutes of play, Banfield's Adrian Semeno made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredo Xabel was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubaldo Isauro in the 40th minute of play forced Gallo Capo's goalkeeper Alfredo Xabel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Xabel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gunnarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Alfredo Xabel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Semeno in the 44th minute of the match. Gallo Capo's Alfredo Xabel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ubaldo Isauro in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th minute Ubaldo Isauro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Xabel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Gallo Capo's Alfredo Xabel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filomeno Balasi in the 63rd minute of play. Jimeno Telo charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jimeno Telo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 67 played minutes Gallo Capo got a freekick which was hit by Jimeno Telo. 70 minutes into the game, Filomeno Balasi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Banfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gallo Capo the free kick. After a rather tough play, Banfield's Filomeno Balasi got a free kick in the 71st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Omar Joachim in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andreas Soltveit saved Banfield from getting behind. A collision led to Banfield getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Isidro Prejun hit a great ball. After 81 played minutes, Gallo Capo's Chico Goiano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Andreas Soltveit came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gallo Capo reached it. Adrian Semeno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredo Xabel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Semeno in the 88th minute of the match. Paulo Cordearo kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Ubaldo Isauro could shoot a difficult shot in the 92nd minute, which Alfredo Xabel however easily saved by the left post. Adrian Semeno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Xabel having to interfere. If Joel Gunnarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match was over Banfield could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gallo Capo throughout the match.
