The referee ignored Empedrado FC's protests and gave Gabriel Goito a yellow card for diving instead. Gabriel Goito kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Gabriel Goito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando Gonza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Rodrigo Lixandro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Tintigasta AFC's Urbano Lando got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 69th minute, Romeo Abeitia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Orlando Gonza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fulgencio Indalecio in the 72nd minute of play. If Santiago Onofre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tintigasta AFC's Orlando Gonza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Goito in the 75th minute of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Teo Aragones managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tintigasta AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teo Aragones was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Orlando Gonza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Goito, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Fulgencio Indalecio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeledon Giraldo in the 94th minute of play forced Empedrado FC's goalkeeper Rodrigo Lixandro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodrigo Lixandro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Giraldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Tintigasta AFC fully deserved thier win.
