After 13 minutes Independiente Futbol Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vicente Ramone who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in David Rey almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Independiente Futbol Club's Joaquim Serbia did a great save. In the 23rd minute Leonides Mederi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Nevada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Carolo Frutos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th match minute, Monroe AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Rey to maneuver through the defense. Rodrigo Paranaense took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fidel Nevada. Monroe AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonides Mederi in the 69th minute of play forced Monroe AFC's goalkeeper Fidel Nevada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabricio Hurko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Nevada having to interfere. Fernando Estevez hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute, Lázaro Jayvier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fidel Nevada was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Allan Göransson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Despite being the better team, Independiente Futbol Club failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
