The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 12 minutes into the game, Cosme Lleir was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los titanes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independencia the free kick. Wincenty Pryputnicki scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Albert Neagoe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Aldo Azeari was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 21 minutes had been played. Ulysses Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Los titanes's Cosme Lleir got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wincenty Pryputnicki stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Independencia's Albert Neagoe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wincenty Pryputnicki in the 54th minute of play. Fabio Sesuldo charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The Los titanes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Los titanes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
