Genaro Manuelo charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Genaro Manuelo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Castelar Impact's Genaro Manuelo got a free kick in the 25th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Independencia's goal looked a bit too open when Esteve Urbez came free, but Albert Neagoe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute Aldo Azeari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Chuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Feliberto Evis hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Albert Neagoe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matías Donoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Aldo Azeari hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Feliberto Evis to strike the kick off in the second half. Independencia's Albert Neagoe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esteve Urbez in the 51st minute of play. Aldo Azeari kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After having played for 55 minutes, Gabriel Kaxen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castelar Impact's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Kaxen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 56th minute, Donato Roldan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 58 minutes into the game, Feliberto Evis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independencia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castelar Impact the free kick. After some careless play in the Independencia defense, Matías Donoso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albert Neagoe. The Independencia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albert Neagoe should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Independencia's zone, Gabriel Kaxen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albert Neagoe came out of the goal and Gabriel Kaxen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Feliberto Evis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independencia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Feliberto Evis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ulysses Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Francisco Chuan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angel Ted hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Francisco Chuan made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Feliberto Evis sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Independencia booed when Castelar Impact was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amador Urbes didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matías Donoso in the 88th minute of play forced Independencia's goalkeeper Albert Neagoe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Castelar Impact booed when Independencia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Castelar Impact's Francisco Chuan got control of the ball when Feliberto Evis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Esteve Urbez's late challenge caught a Independencia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Esteve Urbez helped the player get up and apologised. After 95 played minutes Castelar Impact got a freekick which was hit by Esteve Urbez. Castelar Impact walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
