Defensores de Flores's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justino Boniel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Pedroso in the 46th minute of play forced Defensores de Flores's goalkeeper Witalis Hodas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The Defensores de Flores fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. When Albino Hanot came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Defensores de Flores fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albino Hanot couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Ramadita getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Adolfo Millrick hit a great ball. With a little luck, Defensores de Flores's Witalis Hodas got control of the ball when Nemesio Oxarra tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ramadita's zone, Florencio Gorosti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Naike came out of the goal and Florencio Gorosti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rodolfo Naike stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albino Hanot's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. In the 97th minute Raimundo Pedroso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Witalis Hodas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 99 minutes into the match, Ramadita's Nemesio Oxarra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Witalis Hodas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ramadita's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
