Mauro Boselli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Jairo Lordi made a huge save. Jairo Lordi was a little too slow when Herminio Oskarbi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrian Vermudo during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Belgrano booed when Tumbaya 1966 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Vermudo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10 played minutes, Belgrano's Mauro Boselli shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jairo Lordi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Belgrano reached it. After 20 minutes Belgrano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edgard Llorienzo who took care of the corner kick. When Oscar Ado fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Belgrano's protests and gave Oscar Ado a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st minute, Oscar Ado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Tumbaya 1966 FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Orlando Totakoxe hit a great ball. Jairo Lordi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Garðar Jóhannsson in the 26th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Anier Muno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tumbaya 1966 FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Belgrano the free kick. In the 28th match minute, Tumbaya 1966 FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anier Muno to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Tumbaya 1966 FC's zone, Garðar Jóhannsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Lordi came out of the goal and Garðar Jóhannsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jairo Lordi made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Garðar Jóhannsson sent off a good shot on target. Jairo Lordi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Garðar Jóhannsson went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 43rd minute, Mauro Boselli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jairo Lordi was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. 46 minutes into the game, Garðar Jóhannsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Jairo Lordi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Garðar Jóhannsson made a kick off. Garðar Jóhannsson scored 7-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jairo Lordi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Garðar Jóhannsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Jairo Lordi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Belgrano made a substitution. Danilo Arce replaced Mauro Boselli. Belgrano made a substitution. Edgard Rozarius replaced Oscar Ado. Garðar Jóhannsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anastasio Brais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ovidio Argi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 78 minutes into the match, Edgard Rozarius notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of Tumbaya 1966 FC's Jairo Lordi. Jairo Lordi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Tumbaya 1966 FC's zone, Danilo Arce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Lordi came out of the goal and Danilo Arce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tumbaya 1966 FC's goalkeeper Jairo Lordi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Tumbaya 1966 FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Rozarius came free, but Jairo Lordi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 94th play minutes Garðar Jóhannsson shot 10-0, a short shot which went by Jairo Lordi and just under the crossbar into goal. Belgrano walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
