The Roosevelt fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Nerio should have stopped the shot. 41 minutes into the match, Roosevelt's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Txeru came free, but Martin Nerio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Lipeo booed when Roosevelt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

In the 57th minute Eustaquio Goito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Nerio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roosevelt's Isidoro Aires managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Efrain Senio in the 58 minute of the game. Roosevelt's Alberto Rojelio got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Zeledon Figueroa managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Roosevelt's Alberto Rojelio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Efrain Senio during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
