When Marcial Fero came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Pink Floyd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcial Fero couldn't finish the play. Ciriaco Cilio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Moises Abar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Humberto Cutberto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 20 played minutes Pink Floyd got a freekick which was hit by Leo Tebaldo. Miguel Rozarius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Cutberto having to interfere. In the 24th minute Rafael Lamberto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ambrosio Jerrold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maipú's Ambrosio Jerrold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Lamberto in the 28th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Pink Floyd's Rafael Lamberto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ambrosio Jerrold. Ambrosio Jerrold yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Humberto Cutberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciriaco Cilio in the 36th minute of play. Fernando Vela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 40th minute Faustino Asteri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Cutberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Pink Floyd's goal looked a bit too open when Faustino Asteri came free, but Humberto Cutberto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute, Erasmo Lluciano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Faustino Asteri to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Lamberto in the 51st minute of play forced Maipú's goalkeeper Ambrosio Jerrold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maipú's Ambrosio Jerrold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Lamberto in the 52nd minute of play. If Faustino Asteri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Maipú defense, Rafael Lamberto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ambrosio Jerrold. The Maipú fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ambrosio Jerrold should have stopped the shot. Moises Abar struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Humberto Cutberto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maipú. In the 80th minute, Faustino Asteri reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Humberto Cutberto. The goal made the score 3-1. Faustino Asteri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Cutberto having to interfere. Pink Floyd's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
