The Profundidad fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonel Chinto should have stopped the shot. Cosme Filipo took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leonel Chinto. Leonel Chinto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 13thth minute of the game José Carlos Damião who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Profundidad's Leonel Chinto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cosme Filipo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Chinto having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Carlos Damião in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonel Chinto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If José Carlos Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 21 played minutes Profundidad got a freekick which was hit by Hector Bittor. In the 22nd minute, José Carlos Damião made a precise shot to the right of Leonel Chinto. Profundidad's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After some careless play in the Profundidad defense, José Carlos Damião kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonel Chinto. The Profundidad fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonel Chinto should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Carlos Damião in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonel Chinto saved Profundidad from getting behind. The supporters of Merced AFC booed when Profundidad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nereo Oxel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute José Carlos Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Chinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Merced AFC's goalkeeper Salvador Lazcano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nereo Oxel. If Baltasar Alfonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 43 minutes of play, Merced AFC's Baltasar Alfonso made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonel Chinto was left in no man's land by his defense there! José Carlos Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Carlos Damião stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Merced AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ergin Demirtekin to maneuver through the defense. José Carlos Damião had several of the Profundidad's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 72 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-8 score and a disappointed Leonel Chinto as he didn't even see the shot coming. Leonel Chinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Carlos Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Salvador Lazcano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Bittor in the 77th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Epifanio Claus kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leonel Chinto. That made the score 0-9 in the 78 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baltasar Alfonso got free with Leonel Chinto in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Merced AFC booed when Profundidad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Astor Martxel didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Baltasar Alfonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
