The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alfonso Alfonso kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After 7 played minutes San Boedo CASLA got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Sauveur. Apolo Giraldo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joaquin Kemen in the 11th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Modesto Balendin in the 13th minute of play forced Ferrocarril Este's goalkeeper Federico Firme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Federico Firme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amancio Blanco's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. The supporters of San Boedo CASLA booed when Ferrocarril Este was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Oto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Apolo Giraldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Alfonso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Modesto Balendin in the 29th minute of play forced Ferrocarril Este's goalkeeper Federico Firme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Kemen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Apolo Giraldo made a huge save. 36 minutes into the game, Cayetano Oihan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Apolo Giraldo. Cayetano Oihan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. A collision led to San Boedo CASLA getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Ismael Sauveur hit a great ball. In the 39th minute of the match Alfonso Alfonso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Apolo Giraldo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 40th minute, Modesto Balendin made a precise shot to the right of Federico Firme. Ferrocarril Este's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Amancio Blanco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Ferrocarril Este's David Policarpio got a free kick in the 44th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Ferrocarril Este's goal looked a bit too open when Modesto Balendin came free, but Federico Firme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amancio Blanco struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Federico Firme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Boedo CASLA. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cayetano Oihan to make the kick off. Humberto Dimas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Federico Firme came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by San Boedo CASLA's Amancio Blanco. But to his dismay, Amancio Blanco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. In the 60th minute Alfonso Alfonso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Giraldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Amancio Blanco managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Boedo CASLA's supporters rose to their feet, but Amancio Blanco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Federico Firme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Federico Firme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amancio Blanco went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. 68 minutes into the game, Modesto Balendin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Federico Firme. Modesto Balendin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. Ismael Sauveur charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ismael Sauveur the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, San Boedo CASLA's Ismael Sauveur got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Apolo Giraldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cayetano Oihan in the 72nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the San Boedo CASLA defense, Cayetano Oihan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Apolo Giraldo. The San Boedo CASLA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Apolo Giraldo should have stopped the shot. Federico Firme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Modesto Balendin in the 78th minute of play. Apolo Giraldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cayetano Oihan in the 83rd minute of the match. Ferrocarril Este's Federico Firme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amancio Blanco in the 86th minute of play. Norberto Oto hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Federico Firme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amancio Blanco in the 90th minute of the match. 97 minutes into the match, San Boedo CASLA's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquin Kemen came free, but Apolo Giraldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched San Boedo CASLA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
